Professor
hao.li@ucsf.edu

Dr. Hao Li is a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at the University of California, San Francisco. The research in his lab can be classified into two general areas. 1) They seek a systems level quantitative understanding of the structure, function, and evolution of gene regulatory networks by taking an interdisciplinary approach that combines exquisitely quantitative experimentation with theoretical modeling and bioinformatic analysis. Their current focus is on networks that regulate stress responses and that control multi-cell organization during development. 2) They study the molecular mechanisms of aging using budding yeast as a model system and develop microfluidic based new technology to analyze aging in single cells, and high throughput methods to screen for lifespan extending mutants. They integrate new technology, functional genomics, and bioinformatics to construct a global regulatory network for aging.
